Sustainability Certifications
Here at Self-Care Clothes we make sure each step in production from seed to shelf is inspected and certified for sustainability and quality to give you the products you deserve.
Below is the list of certifications obtained to produce our clothing.
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) was developed by leading standard setters to define world-wide recognised requirements for organic textiles. From the harvesting of the raw materials, environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing to labelling, textiles certified to GOTS provide a credible assurance to the consumer.

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is a voluntary product standard for tracking and verifying the content of recycled materials in a final product. The standard applies to the full supply chain and addresses traceability, environmental principles, social requirements, chemical content and labeling. GRS covers processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trading and distribution of all products made with a minimum of 20% recycled material.

For eco-friendly packaging we partnered with The Better Packaging Co. They meet a number of stringent tests for Compostability. The Australasian Standard, AS5810, is one of the toughest to achieve (they even check to make sure the products are non-toxic to worms!).

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is one of the world's best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety.

The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) is a landmark consumer product safety law amended CPSA in 2008 and provided CPSC with significant new regulatory and enforcement tools as part of amending and enhancing several CPSC statutes, including the Consumer Product Safety Act. The CPSIA included provisions addressing, among other things, lead, phthalates, toy safety, durable infant or toddler products, third-party testing and certification, tracking labels, imports, ATVs, civil and criminal penalties and SaferProducts.gov, a publicly-searchable database of reports of harm.
